Nha Trang is expected to become the leading tourist destination in Southeast Asia by 2030

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai has just signed a Resolution on the construction and development of Khanh Hoa province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Action plan to concretize goals, tasks and solutions stated in Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW; clearly define the main tasks, specific and practical solutions associated with the organizational plan according to an appropriate roadmap to achieve the objectives of the Resolution.

GRDP per capita will reach 189 million VND/person by 2030, Cam Lam will become a modern airport urban area.

The goal is that by 2025, the GRDP per capita of Khanh Hoa province will reach 104 million VND/person. The urbanization rate reaches 65%. By 2030, the urbanization rate will reach 70%, the GRDP per capita will reach 189 million VND/person.

Khanh Hoa’s GRDP per capita target in 2030 is approximately the same as Hanoi’s GRDP per capita target in 2025. According to Plan No. 183/KH-UBND of the Hanoi People’s Committee announced in 2021, the city sets the goal by 2025 to basically complete the target of industrialization with a GRDP per capita of USD 8,300 – 8,500.

By 2030, Hanoi will become a “green – smart – modern” city; develop dynamically, effectively and competitively in the region and internationally; complete industrialization of the capital; GRDP/person reached 12,000-13,000 USD.

According to statistics, the GRDP per capita of Khanh Hoa in 2021 will be at VND 62.3 million/person.

To achieve the above goals, the Government requires the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee to proactively develop an action plan to deploy 10 tasks and solutions in Resolution No. Key services such as: Accelerating economic restructuring associated with innovating the province’s growth model on the basis of science, technology and innovation, towards diversification, value-added and efficiency; Green economy, circular economy.

In particular, it is necessary to establish and adjust construction and urban planning in accordance with Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW in order to adjust urban space reasonably, in association with promoting the potential and strengths of each city, region, locality.

Specifically, Nha Trang city is a nuclear city; Cam Ranh city is a tourism – logistics urban area; Cam Lam district becomes a modern, ecological and world-class airport urban area; Van Ninh district becomes a high-class beach tourism urban…

Making Nha Trang a top destination on the Southeast Asian tourist map

Khanh Hoa province needs to focus on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector, including sea and island tourism, eco-tourism, community tourism, health care resort tourism and cultural heritage tourism associated with environmental protection, preserving and promoting cultural identity; develop auxiliary industries and trades and link inter-regional tourist routes.

Developing Nha Trang into a tourist city; North Cam Ranh peninsula tourist area is a national tourist area; North Van Phong area is a world-class marine tourism urban area, linking the South Central Coast region, the Central Highlands and the whole country. Bringing Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa tourism brand to the top destination on the Southeast Asian tourism map.

The Government requested the province to develop socio-economic infrastructure, especially synchronous, modern and connected transport infrastructure; strengthen cooperation and association with provinces in the South Central region, Central Highlands and other provinces and cities nationwide and internationally, etc.

Some infrastructure needs to be completed and put into operation soon, including Tunnel Deo Ca project; The North-South Expressway to the east through Khanh Hoa province includes sections: Van Phong – Nha Trang, Nha Trang – Cam Lam, Cam Lam – Vinh Hao; Expressway Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot (CT.24), etc.
