Vietnamese Ambassador to the Ukraine said, most of the Vietnamese people wishing to move out of three big cities of Ukraine have been evacuated in the face of the complicated situation there.
Only the Vietnamese in Kherson, which is currently under Russian control, and Mariupol, encircled by Russian forces, haven’t been able to leave.
Two flights repatriating Vietnamese people form Ukraine will depart from Romania and Poland this week, Vietnam News Agency reported.
With spirit of humanity and placing the highest priority to the protection of Vietnamese citizens, the Government allows the organization of flights repatriating Vietnamese people and their families.
The Government has approved the policy to arrange flights to bring Vietnamese people from Ukraine home. They will be tested for COVID-19 upon their arrival in Vietnam and take necessary medical measures in line with the Ministry of Health’s instructions.
The Government already assigned the Ministry of Transport to take the major lead in arranging the flights, while the Ministry of Finance was asked for financing the flights, according to Vietnam News Agency.

As reported, Russia began a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022, in an escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War that began in 2014. The invasion is the largest conventional military attack in Europe since World War II.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday his campaign in Ukraine was going according to plan and would not end until Kyiv stopped fighting, as efforts to evacuate the heavily bombarded city of Mariupol failed for a second day in a row.
