The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has announced that it will launch six new domestic routes this month.
The Hai Phong – Can Tho, Hai Phong – Buon Ma Thuot, and Vinh – Can Tho routes will also operate on the same day, with three return flights every week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The Can Tho – Buon Ma Thuot route will be launched on June 22 with a frequency of four return flights per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
According to the airline, 6,666 air tickets will be opened for sale at a price of only VND 66,000 (USD2.90) for a one-way trip, excluding taxes and fees. Tickets will go on sale from June 6 to June 12 with departures lasting until December 31.
In May, Vietnam Airlines also launched five new domestic routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City – Tuy Hoa, Hai Phong – Nha Trang, Vinh – Da Lat, Vinh – Buon Ma Thuot, and Thanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot.
Vietnamese airlines have resumed nearly full capacity on domestic routes and are ready for international routes once the virus outbreak is curbed, said Vo Huy Cuong, vice head of the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam.
“On some routes, the number of flights already accounted for 80% of the Tet Holiday peak,” he said.
