Vietnam Airlines are offering nearly 70,000 cheap tickets priced from VND499,000 (USD21.69) per flight, including taxes and fees, to serve rising travelling demand during the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.
In an announcement released on December 12, the national flag carrier said that the discounted tickets will be launched for 11 domestic routes between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Hai Phong, Van Don, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Hue, Danang, Quang Nam, Quy Nhon, Pleiku, Buon Ma Thuot, and vice versa.
The cheap tickets intend to serve increasing demand during the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, the airline said.
The tickets can be bought from now until December 3, 2019 for flights from January 17 to February 8, 2020.
Passengers could buy tickets between now and December 31, 2019.
During the holiday, Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific and Vasco plan to offer nearly 2.23 million seats on 12,000 domestic flights.
Low-cost airline Vietjet recently said that between January 11 and February 9, 2020, they will arrange nearly 2.5 million seats on both domestic and international flights. During the New Year 2020 Holiday from December 28, 2019 to January 5, 2020, the airline will increase 1,120 flights.
Bamboo Airways will also add nearly 1 million seats on domestic flights between January 9 and February 8, 2020, which is an increase of nearly 700,000 seats or 3,600 flights compared to the same period last year.
