Residents of Buon Ma Thuot, Thanh Hoa and Vinh city can now enjoy a more flexible and affordable ride-hailing services as inDriver begins to offer its unique car and motorcycle ride-hailing services in the cities.
The international ride-hailing app which originated from Yakutsk, Russia is steadily expanding its foothold in Vietnam as it continues to service more cities in the country. Prior to today’s launch, inDriver has been operating in Da Nang, Huế, Hải Phòng, Cần Thơ , Đà Lạt, Nha Trang, Qui Nhon & Vũng Tau. With the addition of Buôn Ma Thuột, Thanh Hóa & Vinh, inDriver is now available in 11 cities in Vietnam, with over 10,000 car drivers and over 2,800 motorcycle drivers in Vietnam have joined inDriver’s platform to date.
“Vietnam’s robust internet economy, which is expected to grow in the next several years, will continue to fuel demand for ride-hailing services, as more and more Vietnamese switch to internet-based services for their daily needs” Egor Fedorov, inDriver’s Chief Operating Officer told Vietnam Insider.
“We are optimistic of the ride-hailing market in Vietnam, which still presents a lot of opportunities for growth and competition. Our unique experience and business model that gives the freedom of choice to both drivers and passengers puts us in a better position in the highly competitive market. This is especially true during this challenging time when the need for affordable transportation services has become more significant. With our unique approach to ride-hailing services, we are able to deliver greater freedom, equality, fairness, and transparency, as more people look for cost-effective alternatives,” he added.
inDriver sets itself apart from other ride-hailing services available in the country by allowing its users to bargain for the best fare for a ride. With its unique Real-Time Deals (RTD) feature, passengers will first make a fare offer for their ride request, while nearby drivers who receive the request notification will have the option to either accept the offer, ignore the request or negotiate for a more favorable fare.
The RTD feature is also unique in the way that drivers are not automatically assigned to passengers. Once passengers receive counter offers from nearby drivers, they can freely choose the driver that suits their preferences – fare, driver’s rating, estimated time of arrival or vehicle model.
It also combats algorithms used by other ride-hailing companies which increase ride fares due to peak hours, traffic conditions and request history.
In order to ensure users safety, inDriver provides features such as the ability to share GPS location and ride details in real time from the app with trusted contacts, as well as a dedicated emergency button that will connect users directly with law enforcement agencies in case of emergency.
inDriver’s car and motorcycle ride-hailing services are available within Buôn Ma Thuột, Thanh Hóa & Vinh city borders and the nearest suburbs. Meanwhile, drivers who signed up with inDrivers can enjoy zero service payment for a limited time. Currently, completed rides can only be paid in cash to avoid additional costs such as transaction fees or bank charges when paying with debit or credit card.
The inDriver app is available for download for free from the Google Play Store and Apple AppStore.
