One student suffered severe burns on his hand and two others were wounded when a charging laptop unexpectedly exploded on Thursday in the north-central Vietnamese province of Ha Tinh.
N.V.C. and P.V.T., two students at Hoa Hai Middle School in Hoa Hai Commune in Ha Tinh’s Huong Khe District were studying at classmate P.M.H.’s house at 1:00 pm on Thursday when a charging laptop suddenly exploded, according to school principal Tran Dinh Tu.
Fragments from the device damaged one of C.’s hands and wounded T. and H.’s hands and faces.
The cause of the explosion remains unknown.
The three students were rushed to hospitals in the provincial capital city of Ha Tinh for treatment.
Doctors carried out a surgery and sutured C.’s wounds, according to the Ha Tinh Province General Hospital.
Teachers at Hoa Hai Middle School visited the three injured students on Thursday afternoon, according to Tu.
