Accordingly, 4 airports will be temporarily closed from 12:00 on September 27 to 12:00 on September 28, including Da Nang, Phu Bai, Pleiku, and Phu Cat. Particularly, Chu Lai airport will be temporarily closed from 7:00 on September 27 to 7:00 on September 28.
On the same day, the leaders of Da Nang International Airport sent an express dispatch to the Central Airport Authority, requesting to allow the airport to temporarily close, which is expected to be from 14:00 on September 27 to 17:00 on September 28 for storm prevention.
On September 27, this morph will move mainly westward at a speed of 20-25 km/h. From the night of September 27 to noon on September 28, the area from Quang Binh to Phu Yen may be directly affected with the strongest wind strength of 12-13 levels accompanied by heavy rain.
5 localities located in the disaster risk zone of level 4 caused by storms include Thua Thien – Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh. 3 other localities located in the disaster risk zone level 3 are Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Phu Yen.
On the evening of September 26, Vietnam Airlines announced that due to the impact of typhoon No. 4, the airline plans to adjust its plan to operate flights to and from a number of airports affected by the storm from September 27.
Specifically, from the morning of September 27 to the afternoon of September 28, flights of Vietnam Airlines to and from Chu Lai, Pleiku, Hue and Da Nang will be suspended due to the temporary closure of the airport.
In addition, Vietnam Airlines flights to and from Tuy Hoa, Vinh, Dong Hoi, Quy Nhon, Buon Me Thuot and Da Lat airports may have to adjust their flight plans. Some other flights will be affected due to the change of operating schedule.
The airline’s representative said that passengers on flights affected by Typhoon Noru will be supported according to regulations and transferred free of charge to other flights on the same itinerary when required (if there are seats).
