The temperatures in the northern region will drop to 15-20 degrees starting from March 10.
According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the cold air is moving southwards and will reach Vietnam soon. On the night of March 9, it will affect some provinces in the Northeast and the rest of the Northern region on March 10.
The North Central Coast and the Central region will also be affected.
The northern delta will have the lowest temperatures of 17-20 degrees while the temperatures in the mountainous areas will be 15 degrees.
Local rains and rainstorms are forecasted for the northern provinces from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue. There will be strong winds, hails and whirlwind. The winds will turn northeast since tonight on the mainland. Strong winds and waves are warned for ships and boats.
Hanoi will have rains and rainstorms starting from tonight. The temperatures in the capital will fall to around 18-20 degrees.
