Four people in a family have died from serious burns after their house was burnt down in the central highlands province of Lam Dong.
Reports from local authorities in Da Teh District said that the fire occurred at about 8 pm on December 10 at the house of K’Nhan in Da Teh Town.
“The house was locked from inside so it took time for rescue forces to break the door and reach the four victims who were a young couple and their two small children,” authorities said. “They were all rushed to local hospitals with serious burns but then all died shortly afterwards.”
According to some local people, they heard K’Nhan, 23, and his wife To Thi Hien, 25, quarrel in the afternoon the same day. K’Nhan was drunk at that time.
And when seeing their house on fire at 8 pm, they tried to put out the fire and rescue the family but the doors were locked and they called the firefighters.
Police are further investigating the cause of the fire.
