Amazon, an American multinational technology company based in Seattle that focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence has officially selected Vietnam’s conglomerate T & T Group as its strategic business partner and Saigon-Hanoi Industry Bank (SHB) as Vietnam’s first bank partner.
The deal will help Amazon Global Selling, T & T Group and SHB to cultivate talent for the 4.0 era and help Vietnamese exporters run their businesses through the banking system on Amazon’s e-commerce platform.
The partnership agreement between Amazon and T&T and SHB shows that Vietnam is now recognized by major international companies, said Sophie Dao, Partner of Global Business Service firm.
Amazon Global Selling team in Vietnam will continue to support local partners operating on the Amazon platform, said Bernard Tei, director of Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand at Amazon Global Selling.
Do Quang Hien, the Chairman and General Manager of T & T Group pointed out that Amazon is a modern and effective e-commerce platform, where Vietnamese products can be reached by 300 million buyers worldwide. Amazon offered business opportunities for over 200,000 SMEs last year.
Vietnam is one of the fastest growing e-commerce nations in the world.
According to the data from Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, the e-commerce market has grown steadily for 2015-2018, and this year, Vietnam retail sales growth are expected to reach US$ 211 billion, including US$ 10.4 billion in e-commerce.
